First homework assignment
E had her first homework assignment. We had to make a family collage. Emily and I collected leaves and then fingerprinted paper shaped as leaves. Mommy then assembled the leaves and pictures.

My First Schnibble!
I have been admiring the Schnibbles
of many talented quilters over the years on Sinta & Sherri's Snibbles Parades for over 2
years. So I finally got on board and joined the parade! My version of "Summer
Day" is a big huge thank you to Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie Quilts Co. I won this
fat quarter bundle of Nine Dots from her blog & used almost all of it for
this quilt.
I decided to go big or go home. Using the principles of Carrie Nelson's book
"Another Bite of Schnibbles" I enlarged the blocks
from charm packs to fat quarters. I figured Baby E is getting too big for a tiny
quilt, so bigger is better in this case. I love all the colors in this quilt. My
pictures don't do the colors justice. The colors are perfect for a baby quilt.
I'm not sure if my baby is going to get this one, or if I should save it for the
next baby shower I go to.
This was also my first time using a pattern. I guess
you could say I still haven't followed a pattern since I enlarged the blocks. I
felt that using a pattern was easier than just winging it since i knew how many
pieces to cut. Much less waste too. This pattern was really easy too - I managed
to piece a large size baby quilt in a month! I'm not sure I would be able to
finish one each month though- but I can try!

UFO Challenge- Benjamin Bunny
I actually finished the #6 Quilt in Judy's UFO Challenge! For me, #6 was my Benjamin Bunny Quilt. I used a book panel and chopped it up to make this quilt for Baby E's Beatrix Potter Nursery. I'm so glad I took part of the Challenge since it gave me motiavation to finish the quilt in a month. Not too shabby for a mom of a 3 month old baby!

Pink Squares
Finally a finished quilt to show! Here's my Little Light Pink Squares Quilt. I used baby pink kona cotton & scrap pinks. The backing is a flannel so it's softer to cuddle. And to make it really cute- add Baby E! And yep isn't her crib adorable too!
